Romain Gavras directs M.I.A's Born Free

Romain Gavras directs the dark and haunting video for M.I.A’s “Born Free”. This isn’t Romain Gavras’ first politically charged video, and this sure isn’t M.I.A’s first attempt at a politically charged song. Together, the team produces a great visual product, demonstrating a “blurred line between music video and short film” – as best described by editor fellow Will Cyr at NiWota Studios.

Jay-Z - On to the next one

“If Jigga’s New Year’s resolution was to produce music videos that are on a completely different visual plane than all other vids in hip-hop, then he’s off to a great start. On To the Next One is intercut with so many stunning black-and-white images that it seems like it was made more for a Museum of Modern Art installation than MTV.” – Rolling Stone Mag
